As the coalition government seeks to tackle the deficit, and departments across Whitehall look to control spending, the BSA remains the sole body putting the case for the outsourcing industry to the Treasury.

We show the effectiveness of outsourcing as a tool for helping to deal with the economic challenge, the importance of the industry to the UK economy, and the areas where government can level playing fields to make competition easier. The BSA produces an annual budget submission and has fed into many other processes including the government's 2010 spending challenge.
