#IWD2022 Blog: Catherine Roe, Chief Executive, Elior

08 Mar 2022

In 2021, we set targets to increase the number of women in our leadership team, middle and senior management, and the number of female chefs. We are pleased to be ahead of our target in each of these areas; one of the key activities helping us achieve these aims is our Womentoring programme, specifically aimed at helping female colleagues to fulfil their potential.

Inspiring growth and progression, this is a 12-month programme led by our CFO, Leni Savva and designed to boost female representation in senior roles across the business. Creating impact through connection, it’s providing opportunities for talented colleagues to be supported and empowered by established Elior colleagues.

Female mentees meet regularly with their mentors to discuss their development plans. With a strong understanding of our structure and opportunities, mentors help mentees work towards their career goals through establishing connections across the business. And because they have worked in senior positions at Elior, they have the track record and experience to inspire mentees to succeed.

Alongside one-to-one mentoring, programme mentors and mentees promote and champion gender diversity across the business, alongside identifying further development opportunities that support internal mobility.

As a female CEO, I am a great supporter of diversity within business. Our Womentoring programme is of significant importance to me personally and I am proud that it is inspiring confidence and helping our female colleagues to achieve their potential.
